About Me

My Photo
Since becoming an expat in 2008, my life has taken on new meaning. Trading a life of abundance and excess in the US for the unfamiliar and the unexpected while abroad has opened doors I never knew existed. Like adding a pinch of a curious spice to a familiar dish, each new adventure offers a new perspective on the world I thought I knew. And, as it turns out I like a lot of spice! “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

Time Warp 2010

Our first year abroad brought many expected and unexpected changes. Maintaining our blog was one source of stability that not only helped to keep us grounded, but it also kept us connected to home. Moving here had caused us to latch onto the apron strings and we held on tight! But over time, as we've made a life for ourselves here, we've gradually loosened our grip on our tether to familiarity and our blog has been neglected as a result. We simply can't keep up with our own adventures! Sadly, most of our experiences in 2009 and all of 2010 regrettably are not documented in writing. Below is a list of all the places we traveled since our last post about Mallorca...oh, the places we've been!

Italy> Milan, Lake Como, Venice, and Cinque Terre
Switzerland> The German Oberland: Interlachen, the Jungfrau, Lucerne, Bern
Austria> Vienna, Innsbruck
Hungary> Budapest
Germany> Munich many times! (Oktoberfest!)
Croatia> Plitvich National Park, Rijeka
The Netherlands> Amsterdam
Portugal> Porto
Spain> Granada, Formentera, Valencia, Madrid
The UK> London
Egypt> Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, and the Red Sea
Tunisia> Tunis, Sidi Bou Said

It's no secret we're addicted to travel. The only question is, where's the next stop on this adventure!?
